Mustang front push dispensing tap commercialized for Bag-in-Box packaging

PKBR Staff Writer Published 11 January 2018

Worldwide Dispensers North America, a business unit of DS Smith Plastics Division, has commercialized the Mustang front push dispensing tap for Bag-in-Box and stand-up pouch applications.

The Mustang front push tap has the lowest oxygen transfer rate (OTR) and the highest shelf life in the market.

It provides the best protection against oxidation. Its advanced closing system and overall design improves the performance offered by specialized oxygen barrier film used in flexible packaging.

The front push tap design and wings makes it easier for consumers to dispense liquids from Bag-in-Box or Stand-up pouches.

Both the Mustang’s tap and gland links the bag and tap together. It is suitable for food products meeting the US Food and Drug Administration and European Union regulations. The Mustang tap can be used with a range of liquids.

The tap is also available with and without a tamper evident (TE) cap or aluminium foil seal. The TE cap and foil seal blocks the tap in a closed position until it is removed by the end-user and this ensure integrity of the product.

The Mustang tap is available for many Bag-in-Box and stand-up pouch markets such as wine, edible oil, juice and water. The tap is also available in a variety of standard colours or can have a custom colour configuration.

Worldwide Dispensers plans to showcase the Mustang Dispensing Tap at the upcoming Unified Wine and Grape Symposium, to be held from January 24 and 25 in Sacramento, California.
